Mid-Atlantic Funding is a financial services company located in Charlottesville and Central Virginia. This company needed a business identity that conveyed stability and trustworthiness to its clients and partners.
WAD created two logos; a symbolic logo and a logotype, usable together or separately.
The logo joins M and A in a strong ligature, demonstrating unity. Wide letterforms and elongated serifs at the bottom create the sense of stability. An additional 'call to action' can be found in the shape of a large X, where many financial documents are signed.
The logotype reinforces the concept of stability with wide letters reminiscent of those that mark U.S. currency. A thin line, used as a separator, further urges one to sign on the line.
